Introducing Focus Matrix for Web: Your Eisenhower Matrix, Now in Your Browser

Focus Matrix started as a mobile app. A simple Eisenhower Matrix on your phone, designed to help you sort through the noise and focus on what actually matters. Tens of thousands of people use it every day on iOS and Android to separate the urgent from the important.

Today, we're bringing that same experience to your browser.

Why a Web App?

The most common feature request we've received over the past year hasn't been about a new widget size or a different color theme. It's been this: "Can I use Focus Matrix on my computer?"

The answer is now yes.

Focus Matrix for Web is available in beta at app.focusmatrix.app. It works on any device with a modern browser — Mac, Windows, Linux, Chromebook. No download, no installation.

This isn't a stripped-down companion to the mobile app. It's a full-featured Eisenhower Matrix built for the way people actually work at a desk: with a keyboard, a larger screen, and multiple things competing for attention at once.

What's Different About the Web Version

If you've used Focus Matrix on your phone, the core experience is the same — four quadrants, drag and drop, clean design. But the web version takes advantage of what a larger screen and keyboard offer.

Desktop-First Design

This is a web app, not a mobile app squeezed into a browser window. Think more along the lines of Linear or Notion than a phone app with bigger buttons.

  • Sidebar navigation instead of bottom tabs
  • Multi-column layouts that use your full viewport
  • Hover states and focus rings for keyboard-first interaction
  • Data-dense views — see more tasks at once without scrolling

Local-First Architecture

Your data lives on your device first. The web app uses an in-browser database (IndexedDB under the hood) that works offline and syncs when you're connected. Close your laptop, open it on the train, and your tasks are right where you left them.

This isn't just a convenience feature. It means the app is fast — there's no loading spinner while we fetch your tasks from a server. Everything renders instantly from local storage.

The Same Eisenhower Matrix You Know

The core workflow is identical to mobile:

  • Quadrant 1 (Do): Urgent and important — handle these now
  • Quadrant 2 (Schedule): Important but not urgent — plan time for these
  • Quadrant 3 (Delegate): Urgent but not important — hand these off
  • Quadrant 4 (Delete): Neither urgent nor important — drop them

Drag tasks between quadrants. Tap to edit. Sort, filter, and reorganize as your priorities shift throughout the day.

What's in the Beta

The beta launches with the core features that make Focus Matrix useful:

  • Full Eisenhower Matrix with drag-and-drop task management
  • Task creation and editing with titles, notes, due dates, and priority flags
  • Multiple view modes — matrix grid view and focused list view
  • Dark mode and light mode with 10 color themes
  • Keyboard shortcuts for power users
  • Offline support — works without an internet connection

Coming Soon

Some features from the mobile app are still making their way to web:

  • Cloud sync across devices (Pro feature) — so your phone and browser stay in sync
  • Recurring tasks — set up weekly reviews, daily habits, and monthly check-ins
  • Insights dashboard — heatmaps, streaks, and analytics about where your time goes
  • Widgets — browser extension for quick task capture (planned)

We're shipping these incrementally over the coming weeks.

Who This Is For

If you already use Focus Matrix on your phone, the web app means you can manage your priorities wherever you are — phone at the gym, laptop at the office, tablet on the couch.

If you've never tried Focus Matrix, the web app is the fastest way to start. No app store, no download. Just open your browser and sort your tasks into four quadrants.

The Eisenhower Matrix works because it forces a simple question about every task: Is this urgent? Is this important? Most productivity systems add complexity. This one removes it.

Try the Beta

The web app is free during beta. Open app.focusmatrix.app in your browser and you'll be set up in under a minute.

If you find bugs, have feedback, or want to request a feature, reach out through our contact page. We're actively developing based on user feedback, and beta users will have direct input on what we build next.

Focus Matrix is available on iOS, Android, and now the web. One matrix. Every device. No excuses left to keep doing the wrong tasks first.
